About the Artist

"As a multimedia artist, I keep returning to the medium of paper - painting, cutting, tearing, weaving, pasting. My paper weavings and collages are a process of unearthing new expressions through intentional or accidental placement of color and texture. The visceral, tactile, and visual elements of construction, destruction, and repositioning of the painted paper liberate creativity and reveal possibilities. I explore how colors and shapes relate to one another, how they evoke moods, create tension, generate responses, and provide a sense of control to an environment that can be beautifully chaotic." - Barbara Rabkin
